The patients under 18 years old can now be treated with a unique for our country high-end endoscope for diagnostics of upper and lower digestive tract in children, an infusion pump and a linear transducer at the biggest hospital in Eastern Bulgaria.

The innovative endoscope will allow for even more precise diagnosis and treatment of the small patients with upper and lower digestive tract problems at Second Pediatric Clinic. The equipment is specialized for pediatric patients. Second Children's Clinic at University Hospital "St. Marina" in Varna has been specialized in diagnosis and treatment of children and adolescents with gastroenterological problems. Each year more than 4 000 patients with digestive system diseases are treated at the clinic from all over the country.

The infusion pump for automatic adjustment of the infusion rate will be used by the medics at the Children's Intensive Care Unit, where resuscitation of patients aged 0 – 18, with therapeutic, surgical, infectious, toxic and other critical conditions from Northeast Bulgaria is performed.

The management of the hospital, the doctors and medical specialists from the clinic expressed their admiration to the President, under whose patronage the Bulgarian Christmas Charity Campaign is carried out and to the Bulgarian people for their sympathy for the sick children and their families.
