54 Master-Pharmacists of Class 2019 of the Faculty of Pharmacy at MU-Varna were awarded their diplomas at an official ceremony. The solemn event took place today, 22nd February 2020, at Hall 1 of Festival and Congress Centre-Varna.
Elena Nikolova is the top student of the Class. She received a money prize and an honorary diploma from the Rector of the University Prof. Dr. Krasimir Ivanov, as well as a money prize and a plaque from the Mayor of Varna Mr. Ivan Portnih.
Eight students who have graduated with an excellent GPA over the 5-year training were awarded with money prizes by the Rector, as well as awards from the Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Union.
In his speech, the Rector of the University addressed all alumni with the words, "Learn from every situation and turn the obstacles into opportunities. Take initiative in order to be recognized! You are capable of doing everything! This day is a proof of that. From now on, throughout your whole life, you will be proud alumni of MU-Varna. You have all the knowledge you need to conquer the following heights and to be the most successful Master-Pharmacists."
The alumni were also congratulated by the new President of the Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Union Prof. Asena Stoimenova.
The young specialists took the Oath of the Pharmacist, reciting the words after the Dean of the Faculty Prof. Diana Ivanova.
The management of UMHAT "St. Marina"-Varna received the Dean's Award for its entire contribution and cooperation in supporting the activities and enhancing the prestige of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
The Chair of the Student Council Mr. Bozhidar Kasabov presented an honorary plaque and a diploma to the Master of Pharmacy Oganes Vardanyan for active student activities during the years of study, and high merit to the enhancement of the reputation and prestige of the University. He also received a money prize from the Rector Prof. Dr. Krasimir Ivanov.
The Head of the Sports Training Sector, Mrs. Zhulieta Videnova, honoured the most distinguished sportsman from Class 2019 of the Faculty of Pharmacy. Ivelin Iliev received an honorary plaque and a diploma for excellence in sports and contribution to the establishment and recognition of "Diana" Student Dance Group.
Musical greetings to the graduates and their parents were performed by "Diana" Student Dance Group with their dance "Rhythms from Shopluka", and the awesome voice of MU-Varna, the student in Pharmacy Sezgin Alkov conveyed his message to the graduates with Frank Sinatra's song "My way".
Among the official guests at the event were the Mayor of Varna, Mr. Ivan Portnih, the highly respected members of the academic Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. Temelko Temelkov and attorney Angel Donov. Among the guests were representatives of the state and local authorities, heads of health, educational and social institutions, professional organizations, media and citizens.
