532 Graduates of Class 2019 at the Faculty of Public Health and the Medical College Received Their Diplomas at an Official Ceremony

332 health professionals from the Faculty of Public Health and 200 from Medical College - Varna received their diplomas at a solemn ceremony at the Palace of Culture and Sports. The official event took place on 16th November 2019, in front of relatives and friends of the graduates in the crowded hall.

Under the sounds of the student anthem, the academic management of the University was welcomed into the hall, together with the members of the faculty, who for the first time have also been a part of the solemn procession.

The alumni from the specialties Nursing Care and Midwifery took a vow to follow the morale of the ancient healers, repeating the oath of dedication to the profession after the head of the Department of Health Care Prof. Silviya Borisova and the alumnae Nona Taseva from specialty Nursing Care and Ralitsa Nikolova from specialty Midwifery.

86 are the students who have graduated with excellent GPA score from both units of the University, whose diplomas were personally awarded by the Rector of the University Prof. Dr. Krasimir Ivanov. He addressed all the alumni with the words:
“From today, you will take the career path you have chosen. The quality of patient care, the development of the organisations and institutions in our healthcare system, the future of healthcare as a whole will depend on your skills, efforts and professionalism! Let morale and ethics be the guiding force in each of your actions and thoughts.”

The Deputy Chairperson of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Nigyar Dzhafer, who is an alumna of MU-Varna, also greeted the graduates.

The medical community in Bulgaria was joined by alumni in the following specialties: Nursing Care; Midwifery; Health Management; Health Care Management; Pharmacy Management; Rehabilitation, Seawater Therapy, Wellness and Spa; Protection and Control of Public Health; Optometrist -  Bachelor's and Master's Educational and Qualification Degrees, and Public Health Inspector; Medical Cosmetician; Medical Optician; Dental Technician; Assistant Pharmacist; Rehabilitation Therapist; Medical Laboratory Assistant and X-ray Laboratory Assistant - EQD Professional Bachelor. Their diplomas were awarded by the Dean of the Faculty of Public Health Assoc. Prof. Dr. Klara Dokova and the Director of the Medical College Prof. Dr. Dimitrichka Bliznakova.

Krasimira Dimitrova and Victoriya Zhivkova from specialty Health Management, Tsvetelina Mihova from specialty Optometrist, Desislava Yovcheva from specialty X-ray Laboratory Assistant and Yanitsa Tasheva from specialty Rehabilitation Therapist, were awarded with a plaque “Outstanding Student of Class 2019”, and all students with excellent GPA from EQD Bachelor and Professional Bachelor received money prizes from the Rector. Money prizes from the Mayor of Varna were awarded to four of the excellent students, and the Executive Director of UMHAT “St. Marina” Prof. Dr. Valentin Ignatov awarded 3 nurses with money prizes.

University Hospital “St. Marina” - Varna, the Specialized Obstetric-Gynecological Hospital “Prof. Dr. Dimitar Stamatov”, the Eye Hospital - Varna, Maichin Dom Maternity Hospital - Varna and Dentaprime Clinic provided vacancies for the majority of the alumni.

The chairman of the Student Council Mr. Bozhidar Kasabov awarded honorary plaques and certificates to Ivelina Borisova and Vanina Keranova from specialty Health Management and Martin Krastev from specialty Rehabilitation Therapist for their active student activities during the years of study, and high merit in the establishment and development of the modern image of the Student Council at MU - Varna.

Honorary diplomas were also awarded to Preslava Slavova from specialty Nursery Care, Nikolay Kolev from specialty Assistant Pharmacist and Krasen Boychev from specialty Medical Optician for their active participation in the Student Dance Group “Diana”, which is celebrating its 5th anniversary. The awards were presented by the Head of Training Sector Sports Mrs. Zhulieta Videnova.
