For the third consecutive year MU-Varna has won the competition for the most beautiful Christmas decoration "Let's Decorate Varna for Christmas 2019", in category "Decoration of the Facade of a Public Building".
The first place was won on the basis of the highest number of votes collected on the Facebook page of the initiative. This year the University outstripped its rivals with a record number of more than 1000 votes. MU-Varna participated in the competition with pictures of the Rectorate, the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Dental Medicine.
The prize winners were awarded at a ceremony in Varna Municipality today. The Assistant Rector of MU-Varna Eng. Deyan Grancharov and the University designer Christina Tacheva received a plaque and an honorary diploma personally from the Mayor of Varna Mr. Ivan Portnih.
He addressed the audience with the words, "I am delighted that with each passing year more and more people have been joining our initiative. The essential thing is that we take care of the environment that surrounds us, in which we live, work, study. I believe that with our joint efforts we will turn our city into a more enjoyable place to live. My heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has joined the initiative."
Eng. Grancharov expressed his gratitude to the management and the team of the University for the job well-done and their daily efforts for the development and prosperity of MU-Varna. "Our decoration and what we do for the development of our city is in unison with the activities of the Municipality of Varna. We do it with great love because we do love our city. I am glad that so many people participated in the competition this year. I congratulate everyone and wish a successful year."
Along with the institutions, universities, language and business centres, plenty of Varna families took part in the competition, showing their festively decorated homes.
