The three-day postgraduate training course
"Eating Disorders - 21st Century Issues. Opportunities for Management and Therapy" is to be held on 7-9 June (Friday-Sunday) at Medical University - Varna. All topics and lectures are focused on modern holistic approach to eating disorders in the context of nutritional, psychiatric, psychoanalytic and pedagogical knowledge. The training is intended for a wide range of specialists - doctors (pediatricians, GPs, psychiatrists, therapists and other specialists), midwives, nurses, rehabilitators, kinesitherapists, speech and language therapists, psychologists, pedagogues, social workers and other specialists with higher education, interested in the subject.
Organizer of the event is the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology, Faculty of Public Health. The course is implemented with the support of well-established experts in the field of eating disorders. Training lecturers are specialists in nutrition and dietetics: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daniela Popova, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Darina Naydenova; pediatricians and psychologists, applying a psychoanalytic approach in earliest childhood: Dr. Ekaterina Valcheva, Assoc. Prof. Monika Bogdanova, DSc; psychiatrists: Assoc. Prof. Rayna Mandova; clinical, hospital, consultative psychologists: Dimitar Gorchev, Dr. Nikolay Mihaylov, Dr. Sevdzhihan Eyubova; doctors with long-term homeopathic practice and holistic approach to eating disorder therapy - Dr. Petko Zagorchev and Dr. Rayna Tomova as well as PhD students at the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology, whose research is in the field of nutritional status and disorders.
During the course there will be a practical training on "BITE and ISAS - screening tools in eating disorders. Application of Questionnaires for Behavioral and Functional Assessment of Self-Harm and Intervention Planning".
For healthcare professionals, the course is to be credited according to the Unified Credit System of the Bulgarian Association of Healthcare Professionals, and each regular member will be awarded with a supplementary certificate of training. All conference participants will obtain a certificate for postgraduate training by Medical University-Varna.
The participants need to register for participation in advance, paying a fee through a bank transfer, and subsequently submitting a scanned bank payment document and a completed registration form, to the address indicated on it, not later than 23rd May.
