On 18thJune 2017 the 8th Charity Football Tournament under the slogan "With Love for the Children, in Memory of the Fathers Heroes" took place on the football fields of TU-Varna, in which a total of 24 teams from the whole country competed.
The students from the football team "MU-1" of Medical University – Varna, with a coach Bozhil Kolev, won third place in the competition. This year University lecturers and personnel also joined them, which contributed to the enhancement of the team spirit and winning the victory.
The charity campaign is being held for the eighth consecutive year in order to support the children and families of the employees in the structures of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Defense in the city of Varna, who died or were injured fulfilling their duties. The organizers are the Trade Union of the Employees in the Ministry of Interior, the Trade Union of Prison Staff in Bulgaria and Nikola Yonkov Vaptsarov Naval Academy.
