The Chairperson of Association "Touch the Rainbow" Denislava Angelova made another donation for a child with diabetes at UMHAT "St. Marina" - Varna. An insulin pump and consumables were donated to the mother of the two-year-old Borko from Rousse - Elitsa Nedyalkova. The pump was purchased by the Association with the support of "Labyrinth" residential complex, and the consumables were purchased with the funds raised by students. Tihomir, a student with diabetes from Vocational High School of Economics - Veliko Tarnovo, and Aisun from Vocational School of Agriculture "Nikola Pushkarov" - Popovo raised 1500 levs through donations and charity initiatives.
Prof. Dr. Violeta Yotova, head of Pediatrics Department at University Hospital "St. Marina" pointed out that there were nearly 90 children with diabetes in Varna. “It’s the first time we have provided an insulin pump for such a small child”, said Denislava Angelova. The student campaign was launched on the occasion of the World Diabetes Day. Furthermore, by the end of the year, Borko will be provided with a blood glucose sensor, too.
