Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dobrin Paskalev Presented His New Book “Words Are Wandering Bohemians”

“Words Are Wandering Bohemians” is the new book by the poet-nephrologist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dobrin Paskalev, a collection of poems and fables, some of which were written in his student years. The words and wisdom of his “bohemians” brought together scores of Dr. Paskalev’s colleagues, friends and admirers at “Panorama” Hall at the Faculty of Pharmacy yesterday. The literary evening was a part of the series “Under the Magic Quill of Medics”, organised by the Library and the Press Centre at MU-Varna.

Prof. Dr. Dimitrichka Bliznakova and Assoc. Prof. Emanuela Mutafova presented the longstanding creative work of their friend and colleague - the poet in a white coat, who was born at Christmas and was fatefully destined to be Good (the personal name Dobrin is a derivative of “dobr”, meaning “good”, “kind” in Bulgarian).

“Words Are Wandering Bohemians” was published on the idea and with the support of the Rector of MU-Varna. The rich graphic illustrations are the work of Eng. Vyara Krasteva from the University Press Centre. She also gave as a present a graphic portrait of Dr. Paskalev from the time of “Happiness” - a poem written more than 40 years ago and also included in the book.

The schlager performances by Sezgin Alcov - a third-year student in Pharmacy, also added up to the emotional and cozy atmosphere of the literary evening.

Prof. Dobrin Paskalev’s book is available at the University Library and at the University bookstores.
