The sailing team of MU-Varna won a gold medal in class ORC B in the oldest contest for keel boats in Bulgaria "Port Varna 2019". The crew of boat "Hygeia" in IRC 2 class became the runner-up, falling only one point short from the team of “Impala”.
The races took place from 12th to 14th July, in the Varna Bay. The event which has been held for the 44th time is organized by Yacht Club "Cap. Georgi Georgiev - Port Varna", with the support of the Municipality of Varna.
The contest consisted of a single series of six races for all classes. The crew of the sailing yacht "Hygeia" of MU-Varna, with Cap. Angel Dipchikov, won 3 first places in the races during the second day of the contest and top positions on the last day despite the changeable weather conditions and the heavy rain.
