Prof. Violetka Tacheva and the team of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at the University hospital “St. Marina” Varna were awarded the “Varna” Prize

Representatives of the Medical University of Varna and the University hospital "St. Marina" – Varna were awarded the "Varna" Prize 2018 in the category "Humanitarian Sciences".  They were conferred at an official ceremony in the Plenary Hall of the Municipality of Varna on 23 May 2018. A total of 27 were the prizes given for outstanding achievements in the field of culture, science and education. The awards were conferred by the Mayor of the city of Varna Mr. Ivan Portnih and the Chairmen of the Municipal Council Mr. Todor Balabanov.

Prof. Violetka Tacheva obtained an individual award for scientific and artistic achievements, teaching activity in the field of linguistics and her overall contribution for the promotion of the city of Varna as an international language centre.

She addressed the audience with the words "Among so many glowers, pathos and positive emotions and on the eve of the best holiday – May 24th, I would like to thank you with the conviction that only supporting each other, we can go forward and upward! Prof. Tacheva shared that for her, it is a recognition of her 40-year work devoted to proper Bulgarian language and the young people. 




The collective prize was awarded to the team of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at University Hospital "St. Marina" – Varna, headed by Dr. Kalin Mihov. The recognition was given for contribution to the development and application of innovative medical methods and technologies in orthopedics in Varna.

"I would like to thank University Hospital "St. Marina" – Varna, the Medical University of Varna and the wonderful people who wholeheartedly continue to struggle for the health and well-being of all of us" Dr. Mihov said.




Mayor mr Portnih greeted the prize winners with the words "I would like to congratulate this year's prize winners – let them work with such enthusiasm and perseverance for our city. Let us wish that every year the "Varna" Prize finds its deserving holders. Because Varna is rich in successful and talented people!"
