For the sixth consecutive year, from 22nd July to 2nd August, Medical University - Varna is going to host the summer internships of students from North-Western State Medical University named after I.I Mechnikov - St. Petersburg.
Today the Russian students were welcomed by a team of the International Cooperation Department at MU-Varna and congratulated by the Vice Rector for International Cooperation - Prof. Todorka Kostadinova, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine - Prof. Dr. Zlatislav Stoyanov, the Head of International Cooperation Department - Assoc. Prof. Aneta Dokova and the Head of Department of Social Medicine and Healthcare Organization - Assoc. Prof. Nataliya Usheva.
The visiting medical students are going to conduct their summer internships at the clinical facilities of University Hospital "St. Marina" and SHOGAT "Prof. Dr. Dimitar Stamatov - Varna", under the professional guidance of a team of leading experts in the field of oncology, cardiology, surgery, neurosurgery, urology, obstetrics and gynecology and maxillo-facial surgery.
A diverse programme is provided for the students of Public Health, developed by Assoc. Prof. Nataliya Usheva - Head of the Department of Social Medicine and Healthcare Organization. The exchange students are going to visit and get acquainted with the activities of the Department of Social Medicine and Healthcare Organization, the District Food Safety Directorate - Varna, Riviera Day Care Centre, Karin Dom, Home Care Centre at the Regional Council of the Bulgarian Red Cross, as well as the Green Sea Yard.
The social programme for the students from St. Petersburg includes training on board of sports boat "Hygeia", as well as plenty of informal meetings with the students at MU - Varna, who are in charge of accompanying their colleagues from Russia.
