The teams of Medical University - Varna and St. St. Constantine and Helena Holding are going to participate together at a roundtable discussion within the 35th edition of the International Holiday Fair "Holiday & SPA Expo", which will be held from 14th to 16th February 2018 in Sofia. The discussion is scheduled for 16th February at 10.00am at Inter Expo Centre - Sofia, and the topic is "Professions in SPA and Wellness Tourism - Challenges and Innovations in Education".
Over the past 5 years the fruitful partnership between Medical University - Varna and St. St. Constantine and Helena has been expanding with collaborative development of innovative products and programmes, new products and integrated health and SPA services. In addition, other joint initiatives such as "Sea and Health" Festival, presentations and discussions on professional issues at the congresses of the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and SPA Tourism have been implemented as well (Hisarya - 2014, Sandanski-2015, St. St. Constantine and Helena - 2016, Kyustendil -2017).
The SPA centres in St. St. Constantine and Helena Resort are the basis for practical training of the students from Medical University - Varna from "Rehabilitation, Sea Therapy, Wellness and SPA" programme of study, as well as for the students from Medical College – Varna, majoring in "Rehabilitation" and "Medical Cosmetics". The University curricula and programmes are discussed with business professionals, and balneological programmes and SPA packages are developed with the assistance of the academic experts from MU - Varna in the field of rehabilitation, kinesitherapy, physiotherapy, medical cosmetics, recreative management and marketing.
These good practices and successful cooperation between education and business in the field of SPA, balneology, health management and tourism, as well as the challenges in developing innovative programmes for preparation and specialization of future specialists will be presented at the International Tourism Fair by a multidisciplinary team from MU-Varna and St. St. Constantine and Helena Holding.
