Lecturers from MU-Varna were awarded at the 5th National Congress of Virology (Days of Virology) with international participation. The event took place from 2nd to 4th October at the Institute of Microbiology of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
Dr. Denitsa Tsaneva-Damyanova from the Department of Microbiology and Virology made a presentation entitled "Etiological Association between Chronic Hepatitis, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis D in Northeastern Bulgaria", which was highly evaluated and provoked a thorough scientific discussion.
The poster presentation by Dr. Zhivka Stoykova, Assoc. Prof. Tsvetelina Kostadinova and co-authors from the Department of Microbiology and Virology and UMHAT "St. Marina" - Varna entitled "BK Virus (BKV) - a Challenge for Patients after Transplantation" received third prize for innovative introductions in Bulgaria.
During the forum the results of innovative experimental studies by leading researchers from the USA (E. Wimmer), Canada (A. Andonov), Turkey (A. Sayner), Italy (J. Rommelaere) were presented.
