2008 – Assistant Professor at Department of Conservative Dentistry and Pediatric Dentistry in the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Medical University of Varna.
2013 – Assistant Professor at Department of Conservative Dentistry and Oral Pathology in the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Medical University of Varna. Administrative assistant for the specialties Dental Clinical Allergology and Oral Pathology.
2013 – Acquired specialty in Dental Clinical Allergology.
2015 – Acquired doctor's degree after thesis defense on topic “Oral allergy syndrome as a manifestation of food allergy“.

Assoc. Prof. Balcheva teaches Dental Medicine students – Bulgarian and English training program, in the disciplines Dental Allergology (lecture course and practical classes) and Oral Pathology and Gerodontology (practical classes).
She is scientific supervisor of two doctoral students and scientific consultant of one doctoral student, all of whom have acquired doctor's degree.
Assoc. Prof. Balcheva has over 30 scientific publications and has participated in 60 scientific congresses (with oral and poster presentations). The researches are mainly in the field of dental allergology, food allergy, focal infection, oral pathology.
