2005 – 2009 – PhD student at Bulgarian Academy of Sciences – Institute of Experimental Pathology and Parasitology.
2006 – Specialized dental treatment under general anesthesia at Hôpital Saint Vincent de Paul in Paris.
2009 – Assistant Professor at Department of Conservative Dentistry and Pediatric Dentistry in the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Medical University of Varna.
2010 – Acquired doctor's degree after thesis defense on topic “Oral Cavity – a biosystem and potential source of infectious material".
2011 – Chief Assistant Professor in the same Department.
2013 – Acquired specialty in Dental Clinical Allergology.
2013 – Associate Professor at Department of Conservative Dentistry and Oral Pathology in the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Medical University of Varna.

Prof. Panov teaches Dental Medicine students – lecture courses in the Bulgarian and English training programs, in the disciplines Oral Pathology, Conservative Dentistry and Gerodontology.
He is scientific supervisor of thirteen doctoral students, twelve of whom have already acquired doctor's degree, five has already earned the academic position of an associate professor and two of specialist.
He was the awarded „SIGNUM LAUDIS PRO SCIENMERITIS“ for the most successful scientific research in regional medicine for 2012 and 2013. He is a co-founder and vice-president of „Bulgarian Association of Oral Medicine“.
Prof. Panov has over 160 scientific publications and has participated in 50 scientific congresses (with oral and poster presentations). The researches are mainly in the field of dental allergology, food allergy, focal infection, oral pathology.
