Dr. Miroslav Stoykov Stoykov was born in 1993 in the town of Dobrich, Bulgaria. In 2013 Dr. Stoykov completed his secondary education with honors at the "Geo Milev" Language High School - Dobrich, profile "English language". After successfully passing the entry exams, he became a student in the specialty "Dental Medicine", Faculty of Dental Medicine, Medical University - Varna. Dr. Stoykov was a member of the Students' council Medical University – Varna in the period 2013-2018, and Vice-chairman for Faculty of Dental medicine in the period 2016-2018. Chairman of the Dental Medicine Students' Association - Varna in the period 2018-2019. Winner of the Annual Student Award "Varna" in the section "Health and Sports" in the fall of 2018. In 2019, Dr. Stoykov graduated with honors Faculty of Dental medicine, Medical University – Varna, and acquired a diploma for the specialty “Physician in Dental medicine". The same year he began working as a part-time assistant at the Department of "Dental Materials Science and Propaedeutics of Prosthetic Dental medicine". In April 2020 won a competition for a full-time assistant at the Department. In November 2020 continued his development and was enrolled as a full-time PhD student at the Department "Dental Material Science and Prosthetic Dental medicine" after winning a competition. In May 2022, Dr. Stoykov started his residency in "Prosthetic Dental medicine" at the University Medical and Dental Center, Faculty of Dental Medicine, Medical University - Varna. In 06.2022 was assigned to be the administrative assistant of the Department "Dental Material Science and Prosthetic Dental medicine". In June 2024, Dr. Stoykov successfully defended his PhD-thesis on the topic: "Postural analysis in patients with orthodontic deformations and vestibular disorders". In January 2025, after winning a competition, he was appointed the academic position of "Chief Assistant professor".
His interests are in the field of Prosthetic dental medicine, Dental implantology, Biomaterials, Dental sleep medicine.
Dr. Stoykov is fluent in English and German.
Teaching activities:
Participates in the teaching process of dental medicine students, Bulgarian- and English-language training programmes for the disciplines:
- Dental Materials Science
- Dental morphology, occlusion and function of the jaws
- Propaedeutics of Prosthetic Dental medicine
- Clinics of Prosthetic Dental medicine
Qualifications:
Dr. Stoykov takes part in numerous scientific forums, symposiums, practical courses and research projects in the country and abroad, as an additional qualification.
