Assoc. prof. Georgieva was born on 30.07.1985 in Ruse. She completed her secondary education at the School for European Languages “St. Constantin Cyril Philosopher" - Ruse in 2004 with excellence. She speaks English and Russian at a high level and German at an elementary level. Graduated from the Medical University of Varna in 2010 with excellence. Married, with two children. Worked in a Pharmacy for a year after her graduation. In 2012 assoc. prof. Georgieva became an assistant professor in the Department of Preclinical and Clinical Pharmacology in the Medical Faculty of MU-Varna. In 2016 she obtained a PhD in Pharmacology, Medicine with a dissertation “Psychopharmacologycal effects of phenolic acids in experimental pharmacological studies". In the period 2017-2023 she worked as a chief assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics in the Faculty of Medicine of MU-Varna. In 2024 she became an associate professor in the same department. Assoc. prof. Georgieva takes part in the Bulgarian and English language education in Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology of medical students, and in Pharmacology for students from the specialties “Dental Medicine" and “Kinesitherapy". In 2020 she acquired a scientific specialty in Pharmacology. She is a member of the Bulgarian Medical Union, where she serves as a secretary of the local Union section in MU-Varna, and a member of the Bulgarian Society of Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics.
Until the end of 2024 assoc. prof. Georgieva took part in 60 scientific conferences in Bulgaria and abroad. She has more than 30 scientific publications (18 of them with an impact factor/rang), more than 80 citations, h-index 5 (according to Google Scholar). She authored a monograph „The traditional Bulgarian herbs lovage, savory, fenugreek – potential health benefits in relation to their high polyphenolic content “, and co-authored 6 textbooks in Pharmacology for medical, dental and pharmacy students. Assoc. prof. Georgieva's scientific interests lie in the field of phytopharmacology, especially the pharmacology of phenolic substances. She participates in the Scientific group „Gastro-entero-hepatoprotection and Therapy" in the Scientific Institute of MU-Varna. She has been involved in 7 scientific projects (incl. two funded by the Bulgarian National Science Fund, Ministry of Education and Science).
