She graduated in Medicine from the Higher Medical Institute - Varna in 1989. Since 1992, she has consecutively held positions as assistant, senior assistant, and chief assistant at the Department and Course Unit in Physiology at MU–Varna. She obtained a specialization in Physiology in 1995. In 2015, she defended a dissertation on the topic: "Melatonin-initiated effects on the triggering mechanism of hemostasis in rats." Since 2017, she has been an Associate Professor at the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology, Course Unit in Physiology.
She
has 60 full-text publications in Bulgarian and international journals and more
than 30 participations in national and international scientific forums. She is
the author of a monograph, co-author of another monograph, and co-author of 5
practical physiology manuals for students in medicine, dental medicine, and
pharmacy. Her main research focuses on adrenergic regulation of erythro- and
leukopoiesis, the effect of erythropoietin on leukopoiesis and phagocytosis,
and the role of melatonin in regulating hemostasis.
