Dr. Kalina Binkova Ganeva was born on December 5, 1986. She graduated in Medicine from the Medical University of Varna in 2012 with excellent academic performance. Since 2012, she has been working as a resident physician at the 3rd Pediatric Clinic of University Multiprofile Hospital for active treatment “St. Marina". In 2017, she obtained a specialty in Pediatric Cardiology, and in 2021, a specialty in Pediatrics. In 2018, she won a competition for a full-time assistant position at the Department of Pediatrics. In 2019, after a competitive examination, she was enrolled as a full-time PhD student at the Department of Pediatrics. In 2023, she successfully defended her dissertation on the topic: "Possibilities of some echocardiographic techniques and microRNAs for detecting subclinical myocardial damage in children and young adults with beta thalassemia major." Since 2024, she has held the position of Chief Assistant at the Department of Pediatrics.
Main areas of interest – congenital heart malformations, pediatric echocardiography in normal and pathological conditions, rhythm and conduction disorders, arterial hypertension, and others.
She has participated in international and national congresses in the field of pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. She has several publications in peer-reviewed Bulgarian and international scientific journals:
