Biography

Born in the city of Shumen, he graduated from the High School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Shumen and earned a Master’s degree in Pharmacy from the Medical University of Sofia in 2004. Following this, he worked as a licensed pharmacist in a community pharmacy in Varna. Since 2008, he has held the position of Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the Medical University of Varna. He actively participated in two editions of the summer school under the CEEPUS program in Brașov, Romania (2009 and 2010). In 2015, he successfully defended a doctoral dissertation entitled “Pharmacological Study of the Effect of Aronia melanocarpa Fruit Juice in Behavioral Models in Rats”. In 2020, he obtained a specialty in Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy. Since October 2023, he has been appointed as an Associate Professor at the Department. He has participated in eight research projects and is a member of the scientific group “Gastro-Entero-Hepatoprotection and Therapy” at the Research Institute of the Medical University of Varna. His scientific interests are focused on the pharmacological study of biologically active substances of plant origin.
