Born in 1980 in Northwestern Bulgaria. In 1998, he graduated from a High School of Foreign Languages in Vidin. In 2005, he graduated with full honors ("Golden Hippocrates") from the Medical University of Varna. That same year, he was nominated for a mini Nobel Prize in Medicine.
Since January 2006, he has been a resident in surgery at the Second Department of Surgery, St. Marina Hospital. Since November 2006, he has served as a resident surgeon at the same clinic. In 2008, he was appointed as an honored assistant professor at the Department of Surgical Diseases, Medical University of Varna. In 2009, he was elected assistant professor at the Board of Abdominal Surgery, Department of Surgical Diseases, Medical University of Varna. He obtained his specialty in surgery in 2011. His main scientific interests include biliary and pancreatic surgery, as well as laparoscopic surgery.
Between 2013 and 2015, he was a full-time PhD student at the Department of Surgical Diseases. In 2015, he defended his dissertation titled "Palliative Interventions in Malignant Icterus" and received the degree of PhD. In 2016, he published a monograph, Mechanical Icterus, and was promoted to Associate Professor. In 2024, he defended his second dissertation, "Intra-abdominal Abscesses", and was awarded the academic degree "Doctor of Sciences".
