He was born on 4 May 1960 in Provadia, District Varna. He graduated from the Medical Institute in Varna in 1986. Assistant Professor of Cardiology at the Department of Internal Medicine from 1987, Senior Assistant Professor of Cardiology from 1991, Chief Assistant Professor of Cardiology from 1996, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medicine — 2000, Associate Professor of Cardiology — 2003, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine and TS Cardiology and Rheumatology — 2007. Acquired specialties: Internal Medicine — in 1991; Cardiology — 1996. Professional qualification Invasive Cardiology — 2003. Defended dissertation thesis on Determinants of Doppler Mitral Blood Flow in Healthy Youngsters in 1999.
