Born on 01.05.1958 in Varna. Graduated from the 1st English Language High School. Master of Medicine and Health Management. Acquired 3 specialties: internal medicine, nephrology and general medicine. She began her teaching activity at the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Medicine in 1987, and since 1998 she has been a chief assistant professor at the Department of General Medicine at the Medical University - Varna. In 2001 she defended her doctoral dissertation in nephrology, and in 2003 she was elected the first associate professor in Bulgaria in the specialty "general medicine" and in 2013 she became the first habilitated professor in our country.
Prof. Valentina Madjova is a Master of Medicine, Маster of Health Management and PhD in nephrology.
From 2005 to 2022, she was the Head of the Department of General Medicine in Varna and the Chairman of the State Examination Commission for the specialty of General Medicine.
She specialized in general medicine in Poland, France and Austria; management in France, Austria and Belgium. She has conducted a number of specializations in: health promotion, family planning, communication skills, prevention and control of HIV/AIDS, adolescent health and development, depression and anxiety.
Prof. Valentina Madjova is National consultant in general medicine, Member of the Advisory-Expert Council to the Board of the Bulgarian Medical Association and Chairman of the working group for the preparation of the "Standards for General Medicine" to the Ministry of Health (2009-2010). Member of the Commission for Accreditation of Medical Institutions to the Ministry of Health (since 2011 up to now) and of the Temporary Commission to the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency.
From 2002 to 2024, she was the Мanager of the University Diagnostic and Consultative Center "St. Marina" - Varna. In 2007, she established the Center for Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis with a School for patients, for which she was awarded "Varna 2008" Award.
Prof. Madjova is the head of 5 scientific projects; scientific supervisor of 11 doctoral students and 10 diploma students in health management; over 30 participations in scientific juries as chair and/or member with reviews and opinions.

She has received a PhD for dissertation in Nephrology and has а protected Patent for Invention; issued 1 monography, 28 chapters in textbooks, 8 manuals and 2 teaching guidelines; 150 published articles in Bulgarian and 120 in foreign journals and abstract books.
