Dr. Mladenov was born on 06.02.1970 in Varna. He graduated from the Medical University - Varna in 1995. Since 2017 he has been an assistant professor at the First Pediatric Clinic at the Department of Pediatrics of the Medical University - Varna. Specialties acquired: pediatrics (2002); pediatric endocrinology (2007). Long-term clinical fellowship at the University Hospital - Ghent, Belgium (2011).
Dr. Mladenov has over 60 publications as first author or co-author, incl. with IF, over 170 citations and numerous participations in national and international scientific forums, including as a guest lecturer. His main interests are in the field of disorders of sexual differentiation, disorders of gender identity in childhood, polycystic ovary syndrome, menstrual disorders, disorders of growth and puberty, diabetes in childhood and adolescence. He is working on a PhD dissertation on the topic "Polycystic ovary syndrome in adolescence - contemporary aspects and guidelines for diagnosis". He is a member of the Varna Society of Pediatric Endocrinology, the Bulgarian National Society of Pediatric Endocrinology, the Bulgarian Society of Human Genetics and Genomics, the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD). He is a member the European Network for Rare Endocrine Diseases - EndoERN, MTG 7.
