Born on 15.10.1956 in the city of Sliven. Graduated from medicine in the city of Varna (1983). Since 1987 he has been an assistant at the Department of Imaging Diagnostics. He became a specialist in radiology in 1987. In 1998 defended his dissertation on the topic "Diagnostic capabilities of imaging methods in skeletal dysplasias". Since 2001 he has been an associate professor. Since 2016 he has been a professor. From 2004 to 2020 he has been Head of the Department of "Imaging Diagnostics and Radiotherapy".
Winner of the "Doctor of the City of Varna" award for 2012. Winner of the "Doctor Whom Bulgarians Trust" award for 2017 and 2020 and the "St. Ivan Rilski" award in 2019 for contribution to imaging diagnostics.
Winner of the "Doctor of the Year" award for 2024 in national categories of the Bulgarian Medical Association in the category "Long-term activity in the field of medicine and active contribution to the development of a specialty.
Winner of the award "Honorary Badge with a Blue Ribbon for many years of active teaching and scientific activity in the field of imaging diagnostics; for outstanding contribution to the development of the treatment and diagnostic process at St. Marina University Hospital - Varna for 2024.
He has 228 publications and over 60 participations in scientific congresses in Bulgaria and abroad. His main scientific developments are in the field of congenital and hereditary diseases of the skeleton, pediatric radiology, prenatal imaging diagnostics, oncology, respiratory system, non-vascular interventional radiology.
