The Department of Nephrology, Hemodialysis and Toxicology at Medical University “Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov" – Varna develops its activities as part of the university structures in Internal Medicine and is closely associated with the development of nephrology care and dialysis treatment in Northeastern Bulgaria.

The beginning of the academic development of nephrology in Varna was marked by the establishment of a clinical and teaching base within the university hospital.
