Educational activity

Educational and teaching work has been a priority of the department since its establishment. A fundamental principle, consistently followed, is the continuous updating of the teaching materials and maintaining the training in line with the dynamic development of modern science.
The Department of Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology, and Therapeutics conducts training for students from the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dental Medicine, Faculty of Public Health, and the Medical Colleges.

Courses Offered:

1. Pharmacology – for students in the Medicine program (in both Bulgarian and English)
2. Clinical Pharmacology – for students in the Medicine program (in both Bulgarian and English)
3. Pharmacology – for students in the Dental Medicine program (in both Bulgarian and English)
4. Fundamentals of Pharmacology and Pharmacoeconomics – for students in Health Management (Bachelor's degree)
5. Pharmacology – for students in Nursing
6. Pharmacology – for students in Midwifery
7. Pharmacology – for students in Kinesitherapy
8. Pharmacology – for students in Medical Cosmetician
9. Pharmacology – for students in Rehabilitation Therapist
10. Pharmacoeconomics – for students in the Master's program in Pharmaceutical Management and Care
11. Phytotherapy – for students in the Assistant Pharmacist program

Elective Courses:

Habilitated (tenured) faculty members of the department deliver lectures, while the entire academic staff conduct practical classes.

The department is a participant in project BG051PO001-3.1.07-046, titled “Updating and Piloting of Curricula and Programs at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Medical University – Varna in Line with the Needs of the Pharmaceutical Business and Labor Market Requirements", under the Operational Program “Human Resources Development", Agreement № ДО1-4301/09.08.2013.

The members of the academic staff of the department are authors, co-authors, and editors of textbooks and manuals in pharmacology for students in Medicine, Dental Medicine, Health Management, as well as Bachelor and Professional Bachelor programs in Healthcare.
