Dr. Maria Boyadzhieva is a graduate of the Natural Sciences and Mathematics High School “Acad. Sergey P. Korolyov" in Blagoevgrad, where she focused on biology and English. She earned her medical degree from the Medical University “Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov" – Varna in 2009.
That same year, she began working in the Emergency Department of University Hospital “St. Marina" – Varna, and a year later joined the Intensive Respiratory Care Unit (now the Department of Invasive and Non-Invasive Ventilation). In 2016, she began her specialization in Ophthalmology at the Specialized Eye Hospital for Active Treatment – Varna.
She initially worked as a part-time assistant, and in 2018, after successfully passing a competitive exam, she was appointed as an Assistant at the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at MU–Varna. In 2020, she completed her specialty training in Ophthalmology.
Dr. Boyadzhieva actively pursues continuous medical education and regularly attends professional courses and conferences.
She has authored or co-authored over 17 scientific publications in national and international journals. She has delivered presentations and participated in various academic conferences and ophthalmology meetings. She is also a contributing author to a textbook on ophthalmology, edited by Prof. Dr. Hristina Grupcheva, DMSc, FEBO, FICO (Hon), FBCLA, FIACLE.
