Stoimen Dimitrov graduated from the First Language School in Varna in 2019 and earned his degree in Medicine in 2025 from the Medical University "Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov" - Varna. Between 2022 and 2025, he held the position of demonstrator at the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases at MU-Varna. Since 2025, he has been working as a physician at the Clinic of Rheumatology at the University Hospital "St. Marina" - Varna. As of 2026, he is a part-time assistant at the Department of Cardiology and Rheumatology, Teaching Sector of Rheumatology.
He gained clinical experience as a volunteer and an intern at the rheumatology clinics of the University Hospital "St. Marina" - Varna and University Hospital "St. Ivan Rilski" - Sofia. He has over 20 publications, reports, communications, and participations in prestigious Bulgarian and international scientific forums and journals. He is a co-author of a manual for physicians and students, created by an international group, titled "Clinical Features and Morphology of Rheumatic Diseases". He serves as a reviewer for the international journals Rheumatology International, BMC Rheumatology, Frontiers in Immunology, and Rheumatology (Bulgaria). Since 2026, he has been the publication coordinator for Rheumatology (Bulgaria), published by the Bulgarian Society of Rheumatology, and he served as an associate editor for the university journal Scripta Scientifica Vox Studentium for 2024. His main scientific interests are in the field of implementing artificial intelligence in rheumatology practice, the diagnosis and management of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus and progressive systemic sclerosis, as well as rare rheumatic diseases.
He is a recipient of the Annual Personal Award of Varna Municipality for high achievements in the field of "Healthcare" (2024), the First Prize for a scientific report in the category "Analyses and Reviews" at the XV National Conference on Rare Diseases, the Dr. Nikola Sirakov Honorary Award for the highest merits in the field of science during medical education, and the Award for special achievements in medical education from the Bulgarian Medical Association, among others.
He is a member of the education sub-committee of The Emerging EULAR Network (EMEUNET) for the 2026-2029 mandate, the European League of Alliances of Rheumatology (EULAR), the American College of Rheumatology (ACR), the Bulgarian Society of Rheumatology (BSR), the Bulgarian Medical Association (BMA), and the Union of Writer-Physicians in Bulgaria.
