Биография

Stoyan Ivanov Ivanov M.D. PhD. graduated high school for foreign languages in the city of Sliven. Then, he became a medical student at Medical University Sofia (2003 - 2009). After graduation, dr. Ivanov started specializing in Orthopedics and Traumatology at "St. Anna - Varna" Hospital. He acquired a specialty in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2015 and since 2017 he has been elected as an assistant at the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of the Medical University of Varna. In 2017 successfully defended a master's degree - Public Administration with specialization "Health Management".

In 2020 dr. Ivanov successfully defended a PhD thesis on: "Minimally invasive surgery for displaced intra-articular fractures of the calcaneus", introducing an innovative approach in the treatment of fractures of the heel bone. He has certificates for: arthroscopy, joint replacement surgery, sonography by the Graf method, microvascular and reconstructive surgery, hand surgery, pelvic and acetabular surgery.

Dr. Ivanov conducts a number of courses in Bulgaria and abroad (France, Switzerland, Austria, Portugal, Greece) to increase his qualification. In 2019, he performed a three-month specialization at the AO Research Institute Davos, Switzerland. He is an active participant with presentations at numerous scientific forums, in 2018 he was awarded as "Best Young Doctor of the Year" from the Bulgarian Medical Union - Varna.

The main professional topics of interest are: joint replacement surgery, pelvic and acetabular surgery, traumatology of the upper and lower limb, arthroscopy of the knee joint, reconstructive and regenerative surgery.
