Biography

Born in 1983 in Varna, Bulgaria. He graduated with honors from the Fifth High School of Foreign Languages "Yoan Ekzarh" in Varna in 2002. He completed his medical degree with distinction at the Medical University "Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov" – Varna in 2008 and was awarded the "Golden Hippocrates" prize along with the right to choose a specialization.

Since 2008, he has worked as a resident physician, and from 2009, he has been a rheumatology trainee at the Clinic of Rheumatology at the University Hospital "St. Marina," Varna. Between 2011 and 2013, he served as a part-time assistant in Rheumatology at the Department of Cardiology and Rheumatology.

In 2013, after winning a competitive selection, he was appointed full-time assistant in Rheumatology at the same department. That same year, he obtained a specialty in Rheumatology.

In 2022, he defended his dissertation on the topic: "Determinants of quality of life in patients with non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis – an analysis based on the main aspects of the disease," and earned the academic and scientific degree Ph.D.

In 2023, after another successful competition, he was appointed Senior Assistant Professor at the First Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Rheumatology.

  • 09/2011 – ISDC Bone Densitometry Course – Sofia, Bulgaria
  • 09/2012 – Course on spondyloarthritis at Charité Hospital, Berlin
  • 07/2012 – Course on spondyloarthritis in Zagreb, Croatia
  • 03/2012 – Course in epidemiology and medical statistics at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland
  • 06/2012 – Course in musculoskeletal ultrasonography
