Dr. Tanya Zlateva was born on November 17, 1992 in Veliko Tarnovo. In 2011, she graduated from High School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics “Vasil Drumev"- Veliko Tarnovo, and in 2017 from the Medical University "Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov" - Varna. She started working in the Multiprofile Emergency Department for Children in 2017, and since February 2019 she was transferred as a trainee in pediatrics to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the 1st Department of Pediatrics at the UMHAT "St. Marina". After a successful competition in 2019, she was enrolled as a PhD student at the Department of Pediatrics, and subsequently as an assistant physician at the same department. In 2024 successfully defended her PhD thesis on the topic "Organization and results of a programme for early detection and follow-up of children born small for their gestational age". Since February 2025, Dr. Tanya Zlateva has been a chief assistant professor at the Department of Pediatrics of the Medical University - Varna. Dr. Zlateva's interests are in the field of neonatology and emergency pediatrics.
Dr. Zlateva actively participates in projects of the Department of Pediatrics – Feel4Diabetes (2017 – 2019), LENA (2018), project “Cardiovascular and metabolic risk associated with visceral adipose tissue in patients with long-standing type 1 diabetes mellitus" (2019 – 2021), Programme for early detection and monitoring of full-term and premature children born small for their gestational age (2021-). Since 2023, she has been actively participating in the “DigiCare4You" project under HORIZON 2020 of the Department of Social Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. Tanya Zlateva has 16 full-text publications in foreign-language journals and 7 full-text articles in bulgarian journals. She has actively participated in Bulgarian and foreign congresses many times.
