Dr. Tatyana Chalakova was born on May 11, 1991 in Svetlogorsk, Belarus. In 2010, she graduated from the “Vasil Drumev" High School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Veliko Tarnovo, majoring in biology and chemistry. In 2016, she graduated from the Medical University "Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov" in Varna.
From 2016 to 2019, she worked as a physician at the Central Emergency Center in Varna, Devnya branch.
In 2019, she was appointed as a cardiology resident physician at the Second Cardiology Clinic, Department of Non-Invasive Cardiology. In 2023, she obtained a specialty in cardiology.
In 2023, she defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic "Cardiovascular risk in individuals with long-standing type 1 diabetes mellitus".
In 2024, after winning a competition, she was appointed as Chief Assistant Professor in Cardiology at the First Department of Internal Medicine of the Medical University "Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov" - Varna.
In 2024, she obtained a certificate in echocardiography - fundamental level.
She was honoured with a prestigious award by the Bulgarian Hypertension League (BHL). She obtained the 2023 BHL Young Researcher Award named after Prof. Dr. Rahneva. The award is conferred on Dr. Chalakova for merits in the field of prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
