The Department of Nephrology, Hemodialysis and Toxicology provides training in the discipline “Nephrology" for medical students in both Bulgarian- and English-language programs. The discipline is studied during the 9th and 10th semesters and concludes with an examination after the completion of the 10th semester.
The educational process combines theoretical preparation, practical exercises, and clinical training aimed at mastering contemporary methods for the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of patients with kidney diseases.
The department also conducts a state internship in “Internal Medicine" for sixth-year medical students with a duration of 90 days. The internship provides opportunities for in-depth practical training and active participation in clinical activities under the supervision of faculty members and specialists from the department. The training concludes with a state examination.
