Educational activity

Clinical laboratory is an independent medical specialty and scientific discipline, which through quantitative and qualitative methods of research provides the necessary information for early diagnosis, control of the dynamics of the disease process and the effect of treatment activities, for effective prevention, as well as for the assessment of the degree of recovery of health and work capacity.

The teaching activities of the Clinical Laboratory Board include:

Student training:

1. Training of medical students - Master's degree in Bulgarian (6th and 7th semester). 60 hours - 30 hours of lectures and 30 hours of exercises. It ends with a semester examination

2. Training of medical students - Master's degree in English (VI and VII semesters). Horarium 60 hours - 30 hours of lectures and 30 hours of exercises. It ends with a semester examination.

3. Training of pharmacy students - Master's degree in Bulgarian (IV semester). 60 hours - 30 hours of lectures and 30 hours of exercises. Graduates with semester examination

4. Training of students of "Nurse" - Bachelor degree ( 1st semester). Horarium 15 hours - 10 hours of lectures and 5 hours of exercises. 4 hours for nursing students.

5. Training of students "Midwife" - Bachelor degree (IV semester). 30 hours - 24 hours of lectures and 6 hours of exercises. It ends with a semester examination.

6. Training of students "Medical Laboratory Technician" - Bachelor-Specialist" (Horarium 500 hours - 150 hours of lectures and 250 hours of exercises, distributed throughout the course of training.).

7. Training of students in Master's degree in Kinesitherapy

Postgraduate specialization in Clinical Laboratory according to state standards and regulations: core module in Clinical Laboratory:

1. Training of physicians with a master's degree to acquire a medical specialty in "Clinical Laboratory" - four years. Since 2008, eight doctors have been trained and obtained the specialty.

2. Training of doctors with a master's degree in the framework of their specialisation for the acquisition of the medical specialities "internal medicine", "paediatric medicine" , "cardiology" and "anaesthesiology and resuscitation".

3. Training of chemists, biologists and pharmacists with a master's degree for the acquisition of the medical specialty "Clinical Chemistry" - three years. ​

4. Training of physicians with a master's degree to obtain the PHD in medicine.
