Prof. Dr. Nikolay Vladimirov Conev completed his secondary education at PMG "St. Kliment Ohridski" in Silistra. In 2002, he graduated from the University of Economics - Varna with a bachelor's degree in economics, specializing in Commodity Science. In 2009, he graduated as a doctor from the Medical University - Varna, specializing in Medicine. In 2015, he obtained a recognized specialty in Medical Oncology.
In 2010, he started working (as a resident) at the Medical Oncology Clinic, MBAL "Sveta Marina" - Varna, where he subsequently worked as an oncologist. From 2018, he has been the head of the Medical Oncology Clinic. From 2019, he has been the head of the Oncology Clinics department at UMHAT "Sveta Marina"
Starting in 2014, he was appointed as an adjunct assistant in the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases at the Medical University - Varna, and by 2017, he became a regular assistant. In 2018, he was promoted to associate professor in the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases, and later an associate professor in the newly formed Department of Oncology. In 2024, he took the academic position of professor in the same department.
From 2019, he has been the head of the Oncology and Rare Diseases department at the Research Institute at the Medical University – Varna.
In 2016, he received the title of Doctor in the scientific specialty Medical Oncology on the topic: "Serum Expression Levels of Mir-17, Mir-21, Mir-29a and Mir-92 as Potential Biomarkers for Recurrence after Adjuvant Chemotherapy in Colon Cancer Patients".
Prof. Dr. Nikolay Conev has participated in various master courses at the European School of Oncology (ESO), as well as continuing medical education courses at ESMO and others, including the Qualification Course/Seminar on Organization, management, and conduct of a clinical trial, November 2012, specialized course on Antiangiogenic treatment, Belgium (2014), Antiangiogenic therapy for recurrent platinum-sensitive ovarian carcinoma, and Masterclass in Molecular Oncology, Prague, Czech Republic in 2015.
