Graduated from the Medical Institute in Stara Zagora in 1980 as a medical paramedic. In 2000, he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Health Care at the Medical University of Sofia. In 2002, he obtained a Master's degree in Pedagogy, with a professional qualification as a teacher and a specialization in Adult Education at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". Since 2006, he has been a Doctor of Philosophy in the scientific specialty "Theory of Education and Didactics".
In 2009, he obtained a Master's degree in Health Care Management and a qualification as a Health Care Manager at the Medical University of Sofia. Since 2009, he has been an Associate Professor in the scientific specialty "Methodology of Education /in General and Special Nursing Care/". In 2015 - he acquired a specialty in "Medical Pedagogy" at the Medical University - Sofia. Since 2020 he has been a "Professor" in the specialty "Pedagogy of Healthcare Education".
He is the author of 8 independent textbooks and 2 co-authored in the field of General and Special Nursing Care, Philosophy and Introduction to Nursing and Midwifery Care and Practical Foundations of Nursing Care. Defended doctorate on the topic "Educational and Practical Classes for the Formation of the Future Specialist in the Medical College". He has 2 monographs. He is a participant in over 80 scientific forums in the Republic of Bulgaria and abroad. He is the author of over 150 scientific articles, published in full text in our country and abroad, concerning health care, teaching methodology, medical pedagogy and nursing. He is the supervisor of 6 successfully defended doctoral students and 2 active ones. He is the author of 2 distance learning courses. He is the supervisor of 7 scientific projects.
