She graduated from the First Language High School with English and German in 1986 and obtained a Master's degree in English and Bulgarian Philology from the University of Veliko Tarnovo “St. Cyril and St. Methodius" in 1991. Until 2014, she taught English for specific purposes at the College of Tourism – Varna and at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg. She has served as head of the Language Center at the BMC Center – Varna, head of the Bulgarian School in Hamburg, and Academic Director at the Varna University of Management. Since 2015, she has been a Senior Lecturer in Bulgarian and English at the Department of Foreign Language Teaching, Communication and Sports at the Medical University – Varna.
She completed a specialization in “Teaching Bulgarian as a Foreign Language" at Sofia University and defended her PhD dissertation Adjective Complementation with BE and its Bulgarian Translation Equivalents in the doctoral program “Germanic Languages, Contemporary English" at Konstantin Preslavski University of Shumen in 2016.
She is the author of the monograph Structural and Linguistic Features of the Medical Article in English, for which she was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor in 2018. She was elected Head of the Department of Western and Classical Languages at the Department of Foreign Language Teaching, Communication and Sports at the Medical University – Varna. She delivers lectures in English for medical purposes and scientific writing to students and PhD candidates.
She is fluent in English, German, and Russian.
Her main research interests lie in the fields of corpus linguistics, professional communication, specialized translation, and academic foreign language teaching.
She is the author of textbooks, teaching materials, and has 45 publications and participations in scientific forums.
She is a member of the European Consortium for the Certificate of Attainment in Modern Languages (expert), EALTHY, and the Union of Bulgarian Scientists
