University Medical and Dental Center

The Medical-Dental Center was established as an independent unit of the Faculty of Dental Medicine by a decision of the Academic Council in 2014. Since then, its head has been Prof. Dr. Stefan Peev, MD.

The Medical-Dental Center at the Faculty of Dental Medicine has unparalleled equipment and equipment. It employs only university professors who combine clinical with scientific and teaching work. The center is a training base at MU-Varna for postgraduate students to acquire a specialty. The qualified team of leading specialists practices in all areas of dental medicine: dental implantology; oral surgery; conservative dentistry and endodontics; prosthetic dentistry; pediatric dentistry; orthodontics; periodontology and diseases of the oral mucosa; dental allergology; physiotherapy; digital imaging diagnostics.

The UMDC is located on the 5th floor of the Faculty of Dental Medicine building and includes:

the “Operating" sector, which has four operating rooms and one manipulation room. Interventions are performed in the sector with both general and local anesthesia;
the “Anesthesiology" sector has a room for conducting pre-anesthesia consultations and a one-day inpatient unit;
the “Аmbulatory" sector, which has 14 outpatient rooms equipped with dental units and specialized equipment;
the “Dental Laboratory" sector is one of the most modern dental laboratories in Bulgaria. It is equipped with modern equipment for the production of high-tech and high-quality prosthetic structures;
the “Imaging Diagnostics" sector has an orthopantomography room, an orthopantomography and cephalometry room and sectoral intraoral dentography. The sector performs. 3D examinations using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), which creates a virtual 3D patient for precise planning of subsequent interventions and visualizes expected results at the end of the treatment, even before it has begun.
The Audio-Vestibular Medicine sector was equipped in 2020 with the most modern equipment, which allows for a complete analysis of hearing and the vestibular analyzer with a special scientific module for summarizing the examinations of all patients and analysis.
