Kick-оff meeting: CHiP-BiD – VIHREN and “Serum histones as novel liquid biopsies for human malignancies” (April 2022)
Online meeting 20th April 2022
The project Circulating Histone Proteins as Biomarkers of Disease (CHiP-BiD) is funded for 5 years by the Ministry of Education and Science under the National Scientific Programme, Excellent Research and People for the Development of European Science"/VIHREN/ under the call by the Bulgarian National Science Fund.
The project "Serum histones as novel liquid biopsies for human malignancies" is funded for 3 years under a specific grant call of the Bulgarian National Science Fund.
Both projects started in February/March 2022.
The scope of this kick-off meeting was two-fold: 1) to illustrate the aim and the usefulness of histone-based liquid biopsies in the diagnosis and stratification of patients with cardiovascular diseases and with cancer (hematological, colon, lung, breast, liver, brain); and 2) to network with the clinicians of the Medical University of Varna for drawing and storing blood samples for subsequent epigenetic and imaging analyses, in the frame of the projects.
