Education:

Imperial College London – MRes in Biomedical Research, 2017.

King's College London – BSc in Biochemistry, 2016.

Doctorate and academic positions:

King's College London – Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular Biology, 2023.

Medical University – Varna – Assistant Professor, since 2022.

Areas of professional interests:

Protein structure and function; protein production; proteomics; antibody effector functions; adaptive immunity; markers of inflammation and oxidative stress; cell and molecular biology.

Research activity:

PhD Thesis - Exploring the effector functions of Immunoglobulin D through tracking its internalization or cell surface binding by immune cells with the goal of establishing its role in respiratory microbiome tolerance.

Analysis of protein, mRNA, and miRNA expression as prognostic markers for the development and course of inflammation and cancer.

Project participation:

Expression profiling of non-coding RNAs in colorectal cancer – project supervisor – Prof. Maria Radanova.

Examining the adaptogenic potential of Sambucus Ebulus fruits as potential functional food – project supervisor – Prof. Yoana Kiselova-Kaneva.

Link between vitamin D status and sperm cell quality as a factor for assessment of male reproductive health – project supervisor – Chief Assistant Professor Bogdan Hadjiev.
