Dr. Gabriela Kehayova was born in 1986 in Ruse, Bulgaria. She graduated from the German Language High School in Ruse in 2005 and earned her medical degree from the Medical University of Varna in 2011. Since 2015, she has been working as a lecturer at the Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Pharmacotherapy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Medical University of Varna.
In 2020, she completed her PhD with a dissertation titled “Cardioprotective Effect of Lipid Emulsion in Acute Exogenous Drug Intoxications." In January 2021, she was promoted to Chief Assistant Professor at the same department.
Her main research interests involve exploring the mechanisms of action, dosing strategies, and clinical applications of intravenous lipid emulsions as a modern antidote in treating drug poisonings.
Scientific publications
Dr. Kehayova has authored more than nine scientific publications and has participated in over 20 national and international congresses. She is also a contributing author to the “Manual of Pharmacology Exercises for Pharmacy Students" and the textbook “Maritime Medicine."
