The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry was instituted in September 2018 pursuant to the decree issued by the Rector of the Medical University 'Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov' - Varna.
The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry constitutes a specialized entity within the Faculty of Pharmacy, integrating the profile disciplines of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis, and Organic Chemistry, which are integral components of the curriculum designed for the education of students pursuing the Master of Pharmacy degree.
The department comprises five training laboratories, alongside one seminar hall: the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Training Laboratory, the Pharmaceutical Analysis Training Laboratory, the Organic Chemistry Training Laboratory, and two scientific and educational laboratories specializing in Pharmaceutical Chemistry as well as Infrared Spectroscopy and Sensory Analysis. The Pharmaceutical Chemistry Seminar Hall is equipped with computational resources and an interactive whiteboard. All laboratories are furnished with requisite laboratory instrumentation. The Pharmaceutical Analysis Laboratory is equipped with specialized instrumentation for the quantification, characterization, and pharmacopeial assessment of drug agents and medicinal products.
