Professor Nikolova received her degree from Plovdiv University "Paisii Hilendarski"'s Faculty of Physics 2001. In 2002, she earned a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics from the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics at the same university. After she defended her dissertation on "Application of Refractometry in the Food Industry" at the Central Laboratory of Optical Storage and Processing of Information, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), Sofia, she received the educational and scientific degree "Doctor of Physics" (2007), specializing in "Electrical, and Optical Properties of Condensed Matter."
Between 2002 and 2004, she served as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Physics, University of Food Technologies (UFT), Plovdiv; from 2004 to 2007, as a Senior Assistant Professor; and from 2007 to 2011, as a Chief Assistant Professor in the same department. In 2011, she became a habilitated Associate Professor of Physics at the UFT's Department of Mathematics and Physics in Plovdiv. From 2011 to 2014, she was a visiting lecturer at the Department of Mathematics, Informatics, and Physics at the Agricultural University, Plovdiv. In 2016, the Department of Physics and Biophysics, Medical University "Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov," Varna appointed her Associate Professor of Physics. In 2018, the same department promoted her to full Professor of Physics. In 2019, she acquired the specialty "Biophysics."
Scientific Publications
Her research publications focus primarily on laser refractometry for the analysis of biopolymer films, physical methods for the study of wax films and emulsions, physical methods for assessing the quality of food products, physical techniques for studying biopolymers, development of long-period grating sensors, application of mathematical modeling, and fluorescent analytical methods for tinctures and oil extracts of medicinal plants. She has authored scientific papers and presented findings at national and international scientific forums, totaling 120 contributions.
