Assoc. Prof. Nadezhda Rumenova Hvyrchanova-Kurkkeselyan, MScPharm, PhD

Nadezhda Rumenova Hvarchanova (Karkkeselyan) was born in 1987 in Varna. She graduated in 2011 from the Faculty of Pharmacy at MU-Plovdiv with an educational and qualification degree “Master" in the specialty “PHARMACY". In 2013 she was appointed as an Assistant Professor in pharmacology at the Department of “Preclinical and Clinical Sciences", Training sector “Pharmacology and Toxicology", Faculty of Pharmacy at the Medical University of Varna, then as an Assistant Professor in pharmacology and toxicology at the Department of “Pharmacology, Toxicology and Pharmacotherapy", Faculty of Pharmacy, MU-Varna. After successfully defending her dissertation with the topic “Pharmacotherapeutic study, potential side and toxic effects of cardioactive drugs in the treatment of hospitalized patients with chronic heart failure" in 2018, she obtained a PhD in the scientific specialty “Toxicology". Since 2019 she holds the academic position of Chief Assistant Professor at the Department of “Pharmacology, Toxicology and Pharmacotherapy", Faculty of Pharmacy, MU-Varna. Since 2024 she has been habilitated as Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology and Pharmacotherapy. She has acquired a specialty in “Toxicology and Toxicological Analysis" in 2020 and successfully completed an individual study plan in “Hospital Pharmacy". Her scientific research interests are in the field of various aspects of pharmacotherapy in patients with cardiovascular diseases, including drug-drug interactions as well as the application of medicinal and natural substances (pharmacokinetics, biological activity, interactions and adverse reactions).
