The Department of Organization and Economics of Pharmacy provides education to students in the specialty of the regulated professions "Pharmacy", for the acquisition of educational qualification degree "Master". The following compulsory subjects are taught:
- "History of Pharmacy";
- "Social Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Legislation";
- "Medical Devices";
- "Pharmacoeconomics";
- "Pharmaceutical Care".
Elective disciplines of the Department:
- "Pharmaceutical Marketing";
- "Organizational culture and management of the organization in the pharmaceutical sector".
Student clubs in the Department of Pharmacy Organization and Economics:
Student clubs play an essential role in the academic and personal growth of students. They create a space for informal learning, exchange of ideas and practical experience outside the compulsory curriculum. By participating in clubs, students develop important skills such as critical thinking, teamwork, leadership and organization - qualities that often remain in the shadows within traditional lectures and tutorials.
In the Department of Pharmacy Organization and Economics there are two student clubs:
- HOSPITAL PHARMACY
- ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN PHARMACY
They bring together young people with common interests in pharmacy, creating a strong sense of belonging to the profession and encouraging creativity, initiative and commitment to it. In the student clubs, students have the opportunity to work on research projects, participate in conferences, word on scientific publications and meet established professionals, which greatly enriches their education.
Lecturers from the department take part and support the teaching of other disciplines at the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Public Health.
The academic staff of the Department organizes and conducts the State Exam in “Social Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Legislation" for the SRP "Pharmacy", participates in the teaching of students in the Master's Program "Pharmaceutical Management and Care" at the Faculty of Public Health of MU-Varna and SRP in the specialties "Organization and Economics of Distribution and Pharmacy Practice", "Organization and Economics of Pharmaceutical Production" and "Hospital Pharmacy".
Since 2022, the Department of Organization and Economics of Pharmacy is the main training unit for PhD students in “Pharmacoeconomics and Pharmacy Regulation" and “Hospital Pharmacy" accredited in Pharmacy 7.3.
The Department has the following seminar rooms and laboratories for practical training of undergraduate and postgraduate students:
- Seminar room, used for the needs of the disciplines of “Social Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Legislation" and “Pharmacoeconomics", equipped with 13 computer workstations, interactive whiteboard and multimedia. It also houses the "Center for Market Analysis for Educational and Scientific Purposes", which has the specialized pharmacy software program, as well as the "Data View" training software provided by IQVIA on the basis of the "Agreement for Provision of Information and Training Software" concluded between Medical University - Varna and IQVIA for analyses of the pharmaceutical market.
- Seminar room for Pharmaceutical Care and Medical Devices, equipped with 14 computer workstations, multimedia and interactive whiteboard.
- A scientific-experimental laboratory specialized in the study of medical devices and has a computer workstation.
