Chief assistant Yani Shivachev, PhD was born in Varna, Bulgaria. In 2012 he graduated the Medical College at Medical University – Varna with specialty “Rehabilitator" and in 2014 acquired a Master's Degree in “Kinesitherapy" at National Sports Academy “Vassil Levski" – Sofia. After graduation, he started working as a rehabilitator in the specialized rehabilitation hospital "Tuzlata" in the city of Balchik. In 2015, he was appointed as an assistant in training sector " Rehabilitation" at the Medical College - Varna. Since 2018, he has been an assistant in the training sector “Kinesitherapy", Department of Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation and Thalassotherapy at the Faculty of Public Health of the Medical University - Varna. In 2020, he successfully defended his dissertation on topic "Secondary prevention of soft tissue injuries in the knee area in athletes" at the National Sports Academy, and in 2021 he held the position of chief assistant. Since 2023, he has been a kinesitherapist at the Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Clinic at UMHAT “St. Marina" - Varna. The main professional and scientific interests of chief assistant Yani Shivachev are related to kinesiology and pathokinesiology, manual soft tissue techniques, joint mobilizations, classical massage and Eastern techniques. His additional qualifications are in the fields of meridian massage, manual lymphatic drainage, kinesio taping, applied kinesiology and cancer rehabilitation. He participated twice in the "Erasmus+" program (Tallinn - Estonia, 2017) and (Bursa - Turkey, 2022), where he exchanged professional experience in the field of rehabilitation and kinesitherapy.
Chief assistant Yani Shivachev has over 20 publications independently and in a collective in Bulgarian and foreign magazines. He participates with students in scientific sessions, and is also in a creative collective as a co-author of the textbook "Physical Factors and Resortology".
