Nikolay Dukov obtained a bachelor's and master's degree in "Electronics" at the Technical University of Varna, respectively, in 2012 and 2014. During his master's program, the thesis was developed at the University of Ghent, Belgium. In 2014, he enrolled in a PhD program on the topic "Study on the design and implementation of biologically motivated neural structures" at the Technical University of Varna, and part of the research was carried out at the University of Patras, Greece. In 2019, he successfully defended his dissertation and obtained a PhD.
In 2014, he was a part time assistant professor in the Department of Electronics and Microelectronics of the Technical University of Varna, and in 2017, he was appointed as an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Technology, Technical University of Varna. In 2020, he became a member of the Department of Medical Equipment, Electronic and Information Technologies in Healthcare at the Medical University "Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov" – Varna, as an assistant professor, and since 2021 as a chief assistant professor.
His main research interests are related to biomedical engineering. In particular, biomedical signal and image processing, as well as the application of 3D printing in medicine.
