Assoc. Prof. Nikolina Radkova Radeva, PhD, is a faculty member at the Department of Disaster Medicine and Maritime Medicine, Medical University, Varna, and has expertise in disaster response, stress prevention in vulnerable populations, and maritime healthcare.
She earned her PhD in Disaster Medicine from the Medical University – Sofia in 2018, successfully defending a dissertation entitled “Stress Prevention as a Critical Concern for At-Risk Populations in Disaster Situations". Her educational background was multidisciplinary, combining health and finance. She holds a Master's degree in Health Management (2012) from the Medical University “Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov" – Varna, and a Master's degree in Corporate Finance (2008) from the University of Economics – Varna. Her early academic foundation includes graduation from Fifth Language High School “John Exarch" in Varna, specialized training in French.
Assoc. Prof. N. Radeva began her academic career in 2012 as an expert in the Department of International Projects and Programmes at the Medical University – Varna, where she was involved in the development and coordination of national and international projects. In 2015, she was appointed as an Assistant Professor in Disaster Medicine, following a public academic competition. She has been an Associate Professor since October 31, 2019.
Since January 2017, she has contributed to the establishment and organization of the Department of Disaster Medicine and Maritime Medicine. She was instrumental in founding the University Centre for Maritime Health within the Faculty of Public Health, and has been serving as a coordinator since March 13, 2019.
Her research interests include disaster preparedness and risk management, psychosocial resilience in emergencies, maritime health and health system responses to extreme events.
She is also engaged in various national and international research projects and serves as a representative of the Medical University – Varna in the Scientific and Academic Cooperation Council by the State Agency Road Safety in Bulgaria.

Assoc. Prof. N. Radeva has actively participated in over 60 national and international scientific forums and conferences, and has authored numerous academic publications in both Bulgarian and English. In 2019, she published a monograph titled “Current Aspects of Population Protection in Disasters."
