Биография

Education. Graduated from the Medical college "Dr. N. Nikolaev" - Varna, specialty "Sanitary Inspector" in 1990, and specialty "Social Pedagogy" from the Shumen University "Ep. K. Preslavski" in 2003. She has two master's degrees from the Medical University "Prof. Dr. P. Stoyanov" - Varna: "Nursing Health Care Management", 2016 and "Public Health", 2018. In 2022, she defended her dissertation on the topic "Health Promoting Universities - development of the initiative and prerequisites for its implementation in Bulgarian schools of higher education". In 2024, she acquired a specialist qualification in "Medical informatics and health management".

Professional experience. Petya Boncheva worked as a junior and senior inspector at the Regional Health Inspectorate-Varna, Department of anti-epidemic control, Directorate of communicable diseases surveillance for the period 1990-2016, and in 2017-2020 as an organizer of educational activities at the Dean's office of the Faculty of Public Health at the Medical University "Prof. Dr. P. Stoyanov" - Varna. Since 2018, she has been a part-time assistant in the Department of Social Medicine and Health Care Organisation and since 2020 she has been a full-time assistant in the department. She acquired the academic position of "Chief Assistant" in 2023.

Disciplines. Teaching in the following disciplines: Social Medicine and Biostatistics, Social Medicine, Health Promotion, Introduction to Epidemiology, Applied Epidemiology, Epidemiology of health, Epidemiology of Non-Communicable Diseases, Public Health and Indicators for Public Health Assessment, to students from the following specialties: Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery, Speech Therapy, Health Management, Health Management and Medico-Social Care, Public Health Protection and Control.​
